The University of Prince Edward Island congratulates the 113 student-athletes who earned U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian status for the 2020–2021 season.

UPEI Women's Soccer has added midfielder Heather Williams to the squad. The Cambridge, Ontario native joins the Panthers after most recently playing with CMS Elite.

Dr. Patrick Murphy, an assistant professor in the UPEI Department of Biology, has received a $300,000 grant through the Canadian Cancer Society’s 2021 Atlantic Cancer Research (ACR) Grants competition for research into breast cancer.

A team led by Dr. William Montelpare, Margaret and Wallace McCain Chair in Human Development and Health at UPEI, has been awarded a $500,000 grant from the federal government’s Immunization Partnership Fund (IPF) Program for a project to develop and implement a vaccine support program for Prince Edward Island.

Thanks to a graduate scholarship from the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute (BHCRI), a UPEI graduate student will be pursuing research on breast cancer. Olivier Philips, an MSc student with Dr. Patrick Murphy in UPEI’s Department of Biology, is the first UPEI recipient of a graduate scholarship of $29,750 through BHCRI’s Cancer Research Training Program (CRTP).  
 

Irrigation Management Pro, a company co-owned by Stephanie Arnold, a PhD candidate at UPEI and a researcher with the School of Climate Change and Adaptation, has received a $25,000 grant from Innovation PEI.

The UPEI Healthy Aging Research Committee is conducting a survey titled “The Senior’s Survey,” which is open to any residents of PEI aged 65 and older who are living in the community.
