During the fall of 2020, Dr. Karem Simon, chair of the UPEI Department of Music, initiated a series of interviews with our alumni, which was an opportunity for them to share their music and professional journeys. These were presented live to music students during the time slot reserved for Friday afternoon student recitals.

The entire University of Prince Edward Island community is saddened to learn of the passing of UPEI Professor Emeritus, Dr. F. Alan Reesor on March 9 in Charlottetown.

It’s the most exciting time of year in winter sports, when both UPEI hockey teams prepare for the playoffs.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), University of Prince Edward Island, is proud to congratulate a team of five first-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students who recently participated in the American Veterinary Medical Association’s (AVMA) virtual Animal Welfare Assessment Contest and won awards. 

Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and dedication to their respective sports. The UPEI Panther Subway Athletes for February 21 to 27 are Sydney Lyndon (women’s hockey) and Kyle Maksimovich (men’s hockey).

Island author Katherine Dewar has won the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation’s 2022 Publication of the Year for her book We'll Meet Again: Prince Edward Island Women of the Second World War, published by Island Studies Press at UPEI. 

Recently, a highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) of subtype H5N1 has been confirmed in Atlantic Canada.
