The University of Prince Edward Island will observe the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 20 by flying the Progress Pride flag in front of Kelley Memorial Building and lowering all flags to half-mast.

Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and dedication to their respective sports. The UPEI Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for November 8 to 14 are Carolina Del Santo (women’s basketball) and Jordan Maher (men’s hockey).

Dr. John VanLeeuwen, professor of epidemiology and ruminant health management at the Atlantic Veterinary College, has won the Rotary Club of Charlottetown Royalty’s 2021 Mentor Award for his international development work in Canada and Kenya.

On a night when Jenna Mae Ellsworth became UPEI's all-time leading scorer, the Panthers made easy work of the Cape Breton Capers in an 80-46 win. 

A "Stress and Anxiety Essentials" Zoom presentation will be held on Wednesday, November 17 at 1:30–2:30 pm via Zoom that provides a high-level overview of how stress and anxiety might impact work.

The 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP26, is underway in Glasgow, Scotland.

Professor Louis Doiron, Director of the Actuarial Science and Financial Mathematics programs at UPEI, will give a second virtual presentation about “The Feasibility and Costing of Implementing a Guaranteed Basic Income Program in Canada” on Wednesday, November 10, at 3:00 pm. The seminar is a repeat of one given by Professor Doiron on October 17 with some additional aspects covered. 

This week’s UPEI Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for October 25 to 31 are Paige Chisholm (cross country) and Ehab Moustafa (men’s soccer).
