Notice from Facilities Management
The City of Charlottetown is proceeding with traffic flow improvements to University Avenue along the UPEI campus. The construction contract for earthwork has been awarded to widen the roadbed berm to accommodate four lanes between Brown's Court and Enman Crescent. This will involve placement and compaction of fill on the west side, and then infill work on the east side of the road.
This work is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 9, and expected to take approximately six weeks to complete. Traffic flow is intended to be maintained as two-way with minimal periods one-way alternating if necessary. Traffic control personnel will be posted on each end of the worksite to maintain smooth flow of traffic. Construction of the additional driving surface and final pedestrian sidewalks (both sides) will occur in the 2010 construction season.
Although this is not a University project, we will do our best to answer questions you may have. Contact Jackie MacPhail at (902) 555-6034 or by e-mail.
