Thanks to all who came out to our Games Day celebrations on Friday, May 22! Our kick-off to the Canada Games even made Compass AND the Guardian!
GAMES DAY PRIZES
Games Day organizers Lynn, Laurie, and Angela had great fun delivering all the door prizes to the winners on Friday afternoon. Click here for the list — congratulations to all!
CANADA GAMES VOLUNTEERS
Approximately 50 UPEI staff, faculty and students signed up to volunteer for the Games, which is great news for Canada Games organizers. Says Jake McInnis, Volunteer Co-ordinator, “We got a lot of exposure out of it as well, which has really contributed to volunteers signing up.”
And if you didn’t get a chance to sign up to volunteer for the Games, it’s easy to do online. They still need 1,200 people, particularly in Western PEI... So please don’t delay — especially since UPEI will match your volunteer time up to 15 hours.
UPEI CANADA GAMESWEAR
T-shirts are on sale at the Bookstore. We’re participating in the Canada Games Gameswear Fridays throughout the summer, and doing our own prize patrols as we count down to the Games, so be sure to wear your Canada Gameswear on Fridays!
